Purpose and publisher
PageQuilt creates locally stored reading editions from websites you select and lets you customize them, download PDF or EPUB files, and print through Chrome’s print dialog. Publisher: PageQuilt. Privacy questions: anhldbk@gmail.com.
Information processed on your device
When you review or collect a website, PageQuilt processes its URL, page titles, text, links, and supported images, including any personal information present in the selected content. It stores collected chapters, source URLs, images, crawl progress, conversion notes, book designs, and artwork you upload in this Chrome profile’s IndexedDB. Temporary capture-tab ownership is kept in browser-session storage.
PageQuilt does not send your books, collected content, designs, or uploaded artwork to the publisher. It includes no telemetry, advertising, analytics, PageQuilt account system, or automatic cloud sync. It does not scan your general browsing history or capture tabs you already have open. Optional Kindle delivery sends a file to Google and Amazon only when you explicitly choose Send.
Optional Gmail and Kindle delivery
In configured Chrome builds, you can connect a personal Gmail account to send an exported EPUB or PDF attachment to your chosen Kindle address. PageQuilt requests Google account identity (openid and email) and Gmail send-only permission. It retrieves your verified Gmail address and stable Google account identifier, displays the actual sender and recipient for review, and uploads the attachment to Gmail only after your final Send action. Google and Amazon process the email, recipient and document under their own policies. PageQuilt cannot read your mailbox or confirm delivery to your device.
Your Gmail identity, one Kindle preference per account (up to ten accounts), sender-approval acknowledgment, connection state and the last thirty send records are stored in trusted local extension storage. Records include sender, recipient, filename, edition identifier, date, status and a Gmail message identifier when available. No attachment or MIME message is stored there. Authorization tokens are transient in trusted extension code and cached by Chrome Identity; PageQuilt does not store tokens in its books or settings and does not give them to website content.
Disconnect disables future sends and clears cached authorization; it cannot recall email already transmitted. Local preferences and records remain for explicit reconnect. You can revoke the grant in Google Account connections. Clear extension storage or uninstall to remove local records and books. External Gmail, Amazon and exported-file copies remain under those services’ controls. Google user data is used only for this requested delivery feature, never advertising, sale or model training. PageQuilt’s use of Google API information follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Optional Amazon account delivery
You can choose Amazon account instead of Gmail. Connect Amazon requests access to your selected Amazon marketplace, checks its signed-in browser session, and opens an Amazon-owned sign-in window when needed. Browser-managed cookies accompany only the fixed regional Amazon account/document operations. PageQuilt does not read cookie values or passwords, request shopping/profile OAuth access, or sign your browser out when disconnected.
PageQuilt reads the account identifier/display name and eligible device names/identifiers to show your destination. Trusted local extension storage retains the connection state, up to ten account/marketplace destination preferences, the current device list and the last thirty metadata-only Amazon attempt records. CSRF tokens, upload tokens and signed URLs remain transient in trusted extension memory and never enter books, settings, send records, website messages or logs.
Preparing requests an upload ticket using file format and size; it does not upload the file. Your final Send requests permission for the exact returned S3 upload origin and uploads the locally prepared EPUB/PDF without cookies or Amazon account headers. Amazon then receives the title, filename, format, size and chosen destination for submission and processes the document under its policies. PageQuilt does not send raw captured DOM for Amazon extraction. Amazon acceptance does not confirm device receipt.
Amazon and Gmail attempts share local duplicate/recovery checks. No uncertain attempt is resent automatically or silently switched to another provider. Disconnect disables future Amazon sends and aborts active work, while retaining local preferences and records; already uploaded/submitted copies remain with Amazon. Remove the origin grant in Site access or Chrome extension settings to remove PageQuilt's network access. Clear extension storage or uninstall to remove local account/destination/history records. The Amazon route uses a first-party web service whose behavior can change; actual account/device support requires manual acceptance.
Website requests and signed-in sessions
PageQuilt requests robots.txt, selected pages, and image assets from websites you authorize. Those websites receive ordinary network information, including your IP address and requested URLs, under their own privacy policies. Static collection omits cookies and credentials.
If you explicitly enable JavaScript loading or interactive diagram preservation, PageQuilt opens its own background tabs. Websites run scripts normally, can contact their own third-party services, and may use your signed-in Chrome session. Content visible in that session can become part of your local book. PageQuilt does not directly read or store browser cookie values or passwords. It does not bypass login, paywalls, or CAPTCHA.
Chrome permissions
- activeTab: reads the current tab URL when you invoke the toolbar action.
- scripting: extracts rendered content from PageQuilt-owned capture tabs when rendered collection is enabled.
- storage: tracks temporary capture tabs and stores optional Amazon/Gmail Kindle settings, destination metadata and bounded send records locally.
- identity: obtains Google authorization for optional Gmail sending. Local collection and downloads require no connection.
- debugger: takes bounded diagram screenshots when you enable diagram preservation, and renders saved content offline for PDF download. Both use PageQuilt-owned tabs. Chrome requires this permission at installation and may display a notification during these operations. PageQuilt does not attach to your existing tabs.
- Optional HTTP/S website access: requested for specific origins you choose to collect, separately for image origins, for the Google UserInfo and Gmail API origins when you connect Gmail, for the selected Amazon marketplace when you connect Amazon, and for the exact Amazon S3 upload origin when you explicitly send a prepared file. Installation does not grant access to all websites. You can review and revoke grants in PageQuilt’s Site access panel or Chrome’s extension settings.
Retention, deletion, and export
Books remain locally until you delete them or clear extension storage. Deleting a book removes its owned chapters, images, and designs; independently copied designs in other books remain. Uninstalling the extension removes its local library. PageQuilt does not add its own encryption; device and browser protection determine local access.
PDF and EPUB files you save are stored where you choose and remain after deleting a book or uninstalling. Exports are created locally from saved content. Chrome controls print destinations; if you choose a network printer, that destination may receive the document. You control any later sharing or transfer to an e-reader.
Sale and sharing
The publisher does not collect, sell, or transfer your book content or extension usage data. Website fetching and destinations you choose for print/export are described above. The extension has no advertising or tracking integrations.
